Information campaign “KROK do Bezpeky” is very important for the region, and we fully support our partners, – said Director of Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of Dnipropetrovsk RSA
Serhiy Berezan’, Director of Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, said that a serious technogenic burden remained in the region and noted that the information campaign played a significant educational role in informing residents about the rules of handling radioactive waste and radiation sources.
“I am very pleased that such a project is being launched in our region. We have already implemented a comprehensive environmental safety program in our region. Since Soviet times, we have had a number of problems related to the accumulation of radioactive waste. Therefore, the project “KROK do Bezpeky” is not only about sources of ionizing radiation. It is about formation of an environment in which devices and instruments with radiation components are handled responsibly.
We also expect that full-scale educational and informational work will help to get across to wide audience the basic knowledge about the rules of handling, safety, response to the detection of objects with signs of radioactivity and will encourage citizens to be conscious and prepared when they come into contact with suspicious objects,” - said Serhiy Berezan’.
